Bridget Orchard
Bridget Orchard (she/her) is a registered social work therapist with over a decade of experience working in Specialist Mental Health in both Aotearoa/New Zealand and Australia. She graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2010 with a Bachelor in Social Work (First Class Hons) and the following year completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Allied Mental Health and Addictions through Auckland University of Technology.
Bridget has continued her professional development since graduating, with a focus on several different therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and most recently, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Within the therapeutic space, Bridget uses compassion, humour, and collaboration to help clients learn to disrupt unhelpful ways of thinking and living.
Alongside her private work, Bridget is also a Health Improvement Practitioner at a busy GP practice in Ōtautahi/Christchurch, providing mental health support in a Primary Health setting.
Outside of work, Bridget likes to spend her time in the outdoors and is a self-proclaimed ‘bird nerd”.
